Swedish Trapeze worker fighting it out

The Heuman brothers in the late sixties plunging through the waves like a battleship!

In those days the clothing of the trapeze worker was dictated by helmsmen lacking every basic form of empathy.
Yes, we all had to indure in conditions like this dressed in ordinary moped clothing, in swedish so called "mopedställ". Only coal miners could have had worse working conditions and so Lars Heuman founded the International Trapeze Workers Union (ITWU) at the banquet of the Team 505 World Championship at Hastings 1966.

In his declaration of the ITWU he stated that:
- Three years under the centreboard is enough!

He then moved on to say in his inflammatory speach:

- This is not the end, not even the beginning of the end. This is only the end of the beginning of stopping dedicated trapeze workers from being exploited by ruthless helmsmen ......

And so the corner stone for decent working conditions for thousand and thousands of trapeze workers throughout the world was laid this late evening in August 1966.
